Premium Belt Dryer Cycleenergy Aschach

Pellet boom requires efficient drying

Strong demand for belt dryers in the pellet industry

The new belt dryer technology from Mühlböck, Eberschwang, with its innovative 1003 Premium heat recovery system, contributes to high efficiency increases in pellet plants - including the new Cycleenergy plant in Aschach an der Donau, which was officially opened in September.

Reliable drying of sawdust and wood chips is essential for the provision of biomass energy. Mühlböck has developed belt dryer technology with its 1003 Premium heat recovery system to minimise the amount of energy required in the production process. The energy savings in wood drying have been reduced by up to 50% compared to conventional drying systems.
The efficiency of Mühlböck technology has once again convinced the green energy provider Cycleenergy to equip its latest pellet plant in Aschach an der Donau with a Mühlböck belt dryer. Cycleenergy operates four biomass power plants and four pellet production facilities in Austria and Germany. A Mühlböck belt dryer is already in operation at the plant in Gresten, which was built in 2017. "The first ever belt dryer from Mühlböck," recalls Christoph Bruckner, Technical Manager at Cycleenergy. Since then, a close partnership has developed between the two companies. "Mühlböck technology fits perfectly into our philosophy. We want to keep the overall efficiency of our systems high," emphasises Bruckner. "In addition to electricity, we also produce heat for the region and pay very close attention to the efficient utilisation of all temperature levels in the process." And this is where Mühlböck's dryer concept comes into play, which unfolds its full potential in Aschach.

Issue 42/2023 of Holzkurier will feature a detailed report on the successful project.
